INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITIES

The Community Foundation of Greater Clemson was launched as the Clemson Community Foundation in 2013, as a project of Leadership Clemson, and was inspired by successes of community foundations in other cities and unmet funding needs in the Clemson area. We work to promote local philanthropy and volunteerism and to establish long-term sources of financial and human support to address needs in the greater Clemson area.

Don Munson, the play-by-play voice of the Clemson Tigers, addressed CFGC’s October 12 Fete for the Future event.  Don shared his family’s experiences and how friends and community helped his family navigate through a series of challenges. His talk is condensed in the video here. Don encouraged his listeners to support CFGC saying, "I would urge you to give in a way that you've never given before. Because you're never going to regret it."

We work by investing individual contributions to create endowed funds for long-term growth.  A portion of this growth is available each year for grants to Clemson area nonprofit organizations and to support collaborative leadership activities to find solutions to community challenges.
